WELCOME“FR” is a family place where EVERYONE is welcome! A place where you can move onward in your spiritual journey. Every one of us has different backgrounds, experiences, and expectations. But they do not drive us apart. Instead, what we have in common brings us together. We strive to create an atmosphere that is authentic and caring, where the worship is alive and heart moving, the message is practical and where everyone feels welcome and loved. We would love to see you this weekend at “FR!”Go ahead and “click” the play button to check out more of what we are all about!
Why is giving important?God uses the tithe as an investment where everyone involved gets a return. If we are blessed beyond our needs, it is not for the purpose of living more lavishly, but rather to bless others. The church and the kingdom are blessed, and yet God's nature is to also bless the giver. The ministry of Flowing River is funded by God's provision through the tithes and offerings of faithful “FR” members and attendees. The goal of Flowing River is to ensure that we honor God’s provision by exercising wise and faithful stewardship, ethical business practices, and full accountability so that the financial integrity of Flowing River remains above reproach.
Come be with us on Sunday March 6th @ 10:30am--Flowing River Fellowship 2332 Commerce Place McDonough, Georgia as we look into a very important topic--"WORSHIP CAN BE A WITNESS." Make it a point to be present. Looking forward to seeing each of you on this Lord's Day! Come early--have a cup or two of coffee and spend time with each other. What do the scriptures say about giving?Malachi 3:10 states, "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if i will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." Giving our tithes and offerings reflects a grateful heart that wants to give back to God a portion of what He has given us; in reality, what is already His. This is our opportunity to show God that He is first in our lives.James 1:17 says that "every good and perfect gift is from above...," so we have an opportunity to tangibly show God that He is the "owner" of our finances by giving back to Him the first of what He gives us.2 Corinthians 8:7 says, "But just as you excel in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us - see that you also excel in this grace of giving."
FAQs about Giving What is the difference between a tithe and offering? The word "tithe" is derived from the Hebrew word ma’aser and it literally means a tenth. Scripture tells us 10% of all we have belongs to the Lord. In Malachi 3:10-11, God says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house.” The “storehouse” is the Old Testament picture of the New Testament church. So as New Testament believers, we worship the Lord with the tithe, or the ten percent. We believe scripture sets a model for giving But giving away 10% of your income can be a big - and often frightening - commitment! We believe mature believers become mature givers. God doesn't need our money. He owns everything. But we give first because it takes faith to give first and God wants us to trust Him. He tells us in Proverbs 3:9-10 to "honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops and then your barns will be filled to overflowing." We give first and the blessings of God follow. Will I get a contribution statement? We send year-end contribution statements in January for contributions made during the previous year. *Cash gifts must be placed in envelopes with the contributor’s name on it for posting purposes. Loose cash offerings cannot be credited to specific persons.

Thank you for using the Flowing River online giving option to join us in our mission of reaching people with the life-giving message of Jesus. As many people enter into a new-found relationship with Jesus, please know that it couldn't happen without your generosity. We are truly grateful for your donation and hope the convenience and simplicity of online giving will be helpful to you.Financial giving can be divided into two categories: tithes and offerings. The Bible teaches us that we worship the Lord with our tithe, which is ten percent of our income contributed to the church on a regular basis. When we feel called to give over and above our tithe, we do so as an offering. CLICK HERE TO DONATE
Thank you for supporting your church!
KID'S CHURCHChildren are very important at “FR”. They will be well cared for in a loving and fun filled atmosphere where they learn about Jesus. We have nursery/preschool for infants through 5 year olds and Kid’s Crusade for Christ (KCC) for 6-12 years. These go simultaneously with the main worship service.
PRAISE TEAMWe, on the praise team, take seriously our responsibility and privilege to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth and to lead others to do the same. We do that in a way that is, most often, contemporary in style but never compromising in content. We strive for excellence so that we can give God our very best. "Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!" (Psalm 145:3).We warmly invite you to come and, together with us, worship the Lord Jesus, our Savior, our soon and coming King. Hallelujah!
MEN OF THE SWORDWe, the men at FR, desire to make a real difference in our families, our church, our world. We believe it is past time for men to wake up and step up and become the spiritual leaders God ordained us to be. To call ourselves "Men of the Sword" is an acknowledgment that we are at war and that we are armed and dangerous to our enemy. And what we are armed with, by the way, what the "sword" signifies, is the word of God. So it is that Paul tells us, as soldiers of Christ, to "...put on the full armor of God..." (Ephesians 6:10-18) and to take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit. Armed and dangerous...but not alone. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." We need each other--to encourage, counsel, pray for, and fight for each other. But the Sword of the Spirit is not only a weapon for warfare; it is also an instrument of healing. Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." "Men of the Sword," the men of FR, are currently planning several events to foster an environment for spiritual growth and unity among our men. We invite you...no, we challenge you--take your place in the battle. Truly, lives depend on what you will do with yours.
WOMEN OF THE RIVERThe purpose of Women of the River is to inspire spiritual growth, personal development, and Christ-centered leadership among women. We strive to be all God wants us to be as we eagerly and confidently contribute to the well-being of our homes, church, community and the world.
Fresh starts don’t begin with a change of circumstances-such as a new job, new house or a new relationship. It begins with a change of heart. God specializes in clean slates and fresh starts. It all begins with the good news…The GOSPEL G od created us to be with Him O ur sin separates us from God S ins cannot be removed by good deeds P aying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again E veryone who trusts in Him alone has eternal life L ife that is eternal means we will be with Jesus forever Will you accept this good news and begin a fresh start today? If your answer is yes, believe and say these words: Today I am making a fresh start with my life. I believe what the GOSPEL says and I have asked Jesus into my heart as my personal Lord, savior and best friend. We would love to hear from you…Please let us know of your fresh start! email: firstname.lastname@example.org
OUR PURPOSEEvery church needs a statement that answers the question, “why do we exist?” At Flowing River we want every idea and ministry to line up with our purpose statement. If it does not, then we do not do it. Our purpose at “FR” is summarized in a single statement:“We work to supply the thirsty with the Living Water, and to advance the flow of God’s kingdom.” Jesus-- he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned." Mark 16:15-16 (NLT) Jesus said, “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments. " Matthew 22:36-40 (NLT)We at “FR” supply the thirsty with the Living Water, and advance the flow of God’s kingdom by….LOVING GOD, LOVING PEOPLE, AND WE DO IT DAILY! That is our purpose…
STATEMENT OF FAITHWhat we teach, preach and practice here at “Flowing River” is founded on God’s Word—The Bible. His inspired Word is our direction for a Spirit-filled life. We must know God’s Word in order to know God’s will. We worship God, and follow His direction for our church and our lives. We believe the Bible is the inspired, unfailing and authentic written Word of God. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the unity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He was born of a virgin, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His substituted and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His rising to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory. We believe in the blessed hope…the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to rapture (carry away) His Church and to judge the world. We believe the only way of being cleansed from sin in your life is through repentance and faith in the life giving blood of Jesus. We believe that the price Jesus Christ paid on the cross provides-physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. We believe all believers are entitled to seek the promise of the Father, the baptism with the Holy Spirit. With the baptism of the Holy Spirit comes power for life and service, an overflowing fullness of the Spirit, a deepened reverence for God the Father, dedication to His work, and a more active love for the things of God—His Word, His Son, and the people of the world. We believe all the gifts of the Spirit are in operation today. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The saved to everlasting life with the Father and the lost to everlasting torment with thedevil. We believe salvation comes through the person of Jesus Christ. His death on the cross provided the way for mankind to have a personal relationship with God the Father. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life…The Only Way to Heaven. We believe the ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded in the Word of God. All who turn from their sin and believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior are to be baptized. In doing this they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and then raised with Him to walk in a new life.We believe in Holy Communion. The Lord’s Supper consists of the bread and juice of the vine. Communion is a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming. It is a meaningful and serious time of all believers to take part in “till He comes again.”
